There are a wide variety of bird species you can see in their natural habitat.\u00a0 Minnesota\u2019s forest, lakes and bogs provide an oasis for over 300 species of birds. There are many resources for birdwatching in the Leech Lake area so grab your binoculars and hit the trails, lakes and rivers.<\/p>\n<p>There are also approximately 239 species of birds that can be found in the Chippewa National Forest.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the following birds are common to the Leech Lake area:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minnesota Loon<\/li>\n<li>Northern Goshawk<\/li>\n<li>Alder Flycatcher<\/li>\n<li>Winter Wren<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Bald Eagles<\/h2>\n<p>In the Chippewa National Forest, you will find one of the largest breeding populations of the bald eagles in the lower 48 states.
