Report from the Dock<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It finally sounds as if air temperatures are going to warm and stay that way through this weekend and that should bode well for crappie and walleye anglers alike for this weekend\u2019s fishing opener. Even though it still dipped below freezing as recently as Monday night, the rest of the week was expected to be warmer, even overnight, so you should expect to find crappies and bluegills making a quick transition into the shallow bays, shorelines, harbors, and channels throughout the state \u2013 it\u2019s taken long enough, but lake conditions seem to be headed in the right direction. Water temperatures should be in the low to mid-50-degree range this weekend in most areas so look for walleyes to be shallow as well. If weather forecasts hold, this could one of those rare opening weekends that are warm and very fishable. It could also be one of those that allows anglers to experience some excellent multi-species opportunities for walleyes, panfish, northern pike, and bass. Good luck this weekend, get your walleyes early and fish crappies in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Leech Lake Report<\/h3>\n

The cool weather over the weekend meant limited boat traffic on the lake. A few anglers have been checking for crappies in shallow water, but action has been slow. With warm weather expected to move in, crappies should start showing up in the bays as well.<\/p>\n
