Memorial Day is not just a day off but a day to honor the ultimate sacrifice so many of our brothers and sisters in arms have made for our nation.<\/p>\n<p>We Thank You!<\/p>\n<p>After an awesome and successful fishing opener on May 15th, we are excited for another busy weekend in the Leech Lake Area! Our fingers are crossed for blue skies and sunny days! Whether you are here to enjoy world-class fishing, shopping, relaxing, or anything else, we have a little bit of everything for all members of your group!<\/p>\n<h2>Here\u2019s What You Need To Know For Memorial Day Weekend!<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Respect The Guidelines!<\/strong><br \/>\nWith vaccinations have come relaxed COVID-19 measures in some places, but others still require masks and\/or social distancing. Remember that the start of summer is meant to be fun for everyone! Please respect the measures our local businesses have in place, whether they\u2019ve kept or relaxed their rules, and treat all of our local employees with respect.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bring The Whole Family!<\/strong><br \/>\nDon\u2019t leave the family members behind! Here is what you need to know!<br \/>\nFind the perfect stop with our fishing reports that are updated weekly! (CTA to Fishing Report)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What Are The Limits?<\/strong><br \/>\nLet\u2019s discuss new limits for 2021 from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. You can now keep 4 walleye on Leech Lake, and anglers on Leech Lake can keep one walleye that measures more than 20 inches. While you may have heard that whitefish have no limit on Minnesota lakes, please know that Leech Lake is your exception! You can keep 25 whitefish on Leech Lake, and 50 cisco, which are also known as tullibee.<\/li>\n<li><strong>License Rules Here:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Make sure everyone in your party who is 16 and older has a license. An annual fishing license lets you fish until Feb. 28! There are always lower-cost options as well, however.<br \/>\nIf you\u2019re purchasing a combination license, such as for a married couple, make sure you both bring your driver\u2019s license or state license to Leech Lake if you\u2019re over 21. Both are required now, as well as some personal information for each of you on file. However, one spouse can pick up their license first and the other can pick up theirs later, so you don\u2019t have to be together at the time of purchase.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do No Operate Well Under The Influence.<br \/>\n<\/strong>While you can drink a beer in your boat, stay under the legal limit of 0.8% BAC. Ask any rental facilities for their rules when renting a boat. Remember that Memorial Day on Leech Lake is a time for families, and we want everyone to come back and enjoy Leech Lake!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where to stay:<br \/>\n<\/strong>If your best fishing buddy has four legs, make sure you check out our lodging options that allow dogs. <a class=\"content-button\" href=\"https:\/\/leechlake.org\/where-to-stay\/advanced-search\/?amenity%5B17%5D=on&amp;submit=Search#advanced-search-filters\">Dog Friendly<\/a><br \/>\nIf opening weekend is your first Leech Lake camping trip of the season, we have plenty of RV hookups as well. <a class=\"content-button\" href=\"https:\/\/leechlake.org\/where-to-stay\/advanced-search\/?amenity%5B18%5D=on&amp;submit=Search#advanced-search-filters\">RV Hookups<\/a><br \/>\nAnd with vaccinations and reopenings bring us together, find a resort or cabin on the water for your reunited group! <a class=\"content-button\" href=\"https:\/\/leechlake.org\/where-to-stay\/advanced-search\/?category%5B10%5D=on&amp;submit=Search#advanced-search-filters\">Group Options<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Where to shop:<\/strong><br \/>\nThere will be plenty of places to nab that fishing license, but <a href=\"https:\/\/business.leech-lake.com\/list\/member\/swanson-s-bait-tackle-473\">Swanson\u2019s Bait and Tackle<\/a> has it all.
