Report from the Dock<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There seemed to be quite a bit of fish movement to deeper water this week. Walleye action has been tough in many areas during the day, but the fish being caught are in that 15- to 20-foot range and being taken with spinner and live-bait rigs on, or around the structure. There\u2019s still some activity around points, shorelines, and shallow structures if the wind is blowing and during low-light periods with crankbaits or slip bobbers and leeches. Weeds have become an even bigger part of the mix this week. They have developed quickly this season and are now thick and green, so concentrate on weedlines, weed flats, or weed points to be holding everything from panfish to muskies. With a few exceptions, the panfish spawn has wrapped up so expect most bluegills and crappies to be out of the reeds and shoreline areas and moving onto the aforementioned weed spots. Northern pike remains an easy catch on most lakes and some of the best bass reports are coming from the shallow slop or defined weedlines with topwater presentations.<\/p>\n

Leech Lake Report<\/h3>\n

The main lake walleye bite has been tough, but a spinner and crawler will turn some fish in 12 to 17 feet off Otter Tail Point and Little Stoney Point. Jump around the shoreline breaks, sand, and weeds in Walker Bay with a leech and you\u2019ll hit some fish in 8 to 14 feet. Bass and bluegills are hitting in the cabbage beds of Agency Bay, Boy Bay, and Shingobee Bay.<\/p>\n
