Report from the Dock<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many boats have been put in storage and the various hunting seasons seem to be garnering more interest than fishing at this point. The anglers who continue to fish are doing well, with walleyes, crappies, and muskies providing quality fish-catching opportunities statewide. Walleyes are being found in several distinct locations: shallow shorelines, points, and flats or on deep structures in 20 feet or more. Crappie reports were good this week and most fish are now suspended and sitting over deep holes \u2013 look to spots that produce crappies during the ice fishing season. Large sucker minnows remain the ticket for muskies in less than 15 feet on most lakes.<\/p>\n

Leech Lake Report<\/h3>\n

Walleye action remains spotty and success really varies from one day to the next. If they cooperate, a jig and minnow is working best along the shorelines and points such as the Hardwoods, Stoney Point, and Pine Point in 9 to 12 feet. Work the Sand Point area in 6 to 9 feet for perch and a few walleyes. Large sucker minnows have been the ticket for muskies along the weed edges in Walker Bay or main lake structure in 6 to 10 feet. Waterfowlers still aren\u2019t seeing a big push of new ducks into the area, grouse reports are favorable, and youth deer hunters did well.<\/p>\n
