If you’re thinking about taking a weekend trip to our beautiful and conveniently located town, but you’re not sure what to do, look no further! We put together a helpful guide to navigate your weekend!<\/span><\/p>\n

Friday night in Walker<\/b><\/h2>\n

If you’re planning a weekend trip, you’ll likely arrive Friday evening to get settled into your lodging of choice! Some favorite <\/span>places to stay<\/span><\/a> around the Walker community are premier lodging properties that surround the shores of Leech Lake that truly provide that up-north experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

After getting settled into your room for the weekend, you might want to grab a bite to eat at one of our local <\/span>favorite restaurants<\/span><\/a>. Once dinner is done, if you don’t feel like heading back to your lodging quite yet, you can always check out <\/span>Portage Brewing Company<\/span><\/a> located in the heart of Walker, open until 9:00 PM!<\/span><\/p>\n

Spend Saturday Exploring<\/b><\/h2>\n

Lucky for you, there’s an endless amount of things to do in Walker! It might even be a little overwhelming, so we picked a few things that our visitors love to do when they come to stay with us!<\/span><\/p>\n

Head out to explore Walker<\/b><\/h3>\n

8:30\/9:00<\/b>: If you’re a breakfast person, then you won’t want to miss out on a delicious first meal from one of Walker’s best restaurants! <\/span>Jimmy’s Family Restaurant<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Outdoorsman Cafe<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Walker Bay Coffee Co.<\/span><\/a> are all fan favorites and excellent spots to get some breakfast!<\/span><\/p>\n

10:00<\/b>: Head over to the <\/span>Walker Farmer’s Market<\/span><\/a> to grab some local produce, goods, and other crafts to enjoy and bring home from your trip!<\/span><\/p>\n

11:30<\/b>: Dress warm and take a walk around <\/span>Walker City Park<\/span><\/a> where you’ll find a beautiful view of Leech Lake and the infamous Walker Bay Lighthouse.<\/span><\/p>\n

12:30\/1:00<\/b>: Head over to one of Walker’s convenient <\/span>restaurants<\/span><\/a> for a quick lunch before heading back out on your exploration journey!<\/span><\/p>\n

2:00<\/b>: Depending on your preferences, there are a variety of things you can do in Walker to spend an afternoon. If you love to explore nature, <\/span>Heartland State Trail<\/span><\/a> is a beautiful spot for a hike. <\/span>Tianna Country Club<\/span><\/a> is an excellent course to hit a round of golf. Don’t feel like driving? You can also take a <\/span>boat tour<\/span><\/a> along Leech Lake and still get an excellent view of the fall foliage \u2013 you can even get some fishing in, too!<\/span><\/p>\n

6:00<\/b>: Treat yourself to an elegant dinner at <\/span>The Boulders<\/span><\/a> (don’t forget to make a reservation) where you can enjoy delectable seafood, locally caught fish, steak, and other entre\u00e9s! Looking for something a little bit more family-friendly? <\/span>Bayside Bar & Grill<\/span><\/a> and world-famous <\/span>Benson\u2019s Eating & Drinking Emporium<\/span><\/a> are both great spots to grab some dinner<\/span><\/p>\n
