Report from the Dock<\/h2>\n

Generally, not much has changed from last week as far as fishing reports go throughout the state. It’s remained warm, and water temperatures have not dropped much, if any, so everything has basically remained the same statewide. Walleye patterns have not changed, with the persistent summer-like weather keeping walleyes spread out and lethargic in most locations. There are a few exceptions, but the best bet remains to cover water with crankbaits or spinner rigs and crawlers, ultimately picking off the few aggressive fish that exist in a pod. Key on low-light periods as well. Crappies, bluegills, bass, and pike remain weed-related, although some panfish are starting to be found suspended off the weeds in deep water. Last weekend’s grouse and archery deer openers were pretty much uneventful, again due to the heat. It was tough on dogs and hunters alike to get out and spend much time afield or in the woods.<\/p>\n

Leech Lake Report<\/h2>\n

With no weather change, walleyes continue to follow similar patterns as last week. Continue to cover water with crankbaits or a spinner and crawler in the Goose Island area over 8 to 12 feet. Crankbaits or jigs tipped with minnows and crawlers are turning a few walleyes off the main-lake rocks in 14 to 16 feet. The 14- to 18-foot breaks in Walker Bay are also producing a few walleyes on live-bait rigs and crawlers. The crankbait bite at night in Walker Bay is also decent, some evenings over 9 to 12 feet. Perch are being caught off Sand Point in 9 to 12 feet, but the majority continue to run small. The Pipe Island area and shallow weeds in Walker Bay have provided the best muskie activity.<\/p>\n
